Paul the Octopus has received death threats.... How would you murder an octopus?

I found out some interesting information about octopuses when I was trying to find out the proper way to kill one. The octopus used to have a shell millions of years ago, but of course over the years they lost that. They seek homes in the abandoned shells of other sea creatures, car tires or cans.

According to Jack Whitten who is an octopus hunter, the octopus is addicted to the color white. Just like bulls like red, well octopus’s like white. The octopus hunter always has a white handkerchief on him to entice them out of their home.

According to the octopus hunter, a person needs to bite or stab the nerve between the eyes on the octopus. He advises not to be put off by the cloud of squid ink that he will spew out at you. Then you have to beat the octopus at least 100 times against a rock or concrete structure to tenderize the flesh.

I think I’ll leave the octopus killer to the trained hunters.

I looked everywhere, but couldn't find the name of Paul's owner. It looks like he is being kept in the German city of Oberhausen. My guess is that he is owned by someone in the Marine Biology field... especially since the Huffington Post states that Paul was born in England.

He probably has dual citizenship and two passports. huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/24/world-cup-... I have tried octopus once and didn't much care for it. I admire these very intelligent creatures, and if I was forced to murder one... I would try to make it a painless as possible.

I would use a very sharp knife and go straight for the vitals. I wouldn't send Paul to Korea where they eat them whole, and alive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFWnSS5D2kw.

I really can't say that I'm surprised he's received death threats, but I'm always a little bit disappointed in humanity when I hear about stuff like this. I would never kill an octopus, especially one that's beloved by so many people. If I had to guess, I'd say that actually killing Paul the Octopus would probably be pretty difficult.

Would you drain the tank? You'd need a pretty long and sharp instrument to actually get at him without him coming at you. I think it's fair to say that anyone going after Paul would likely be putting themselves at risk at least a little bit.

That said, I don't think anyone would actually do something to Paul. Of all the things worth going to jail for, that has to be pretty low on the list.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
