Disney's hard. First of all I'd lower those expectations. They'll probably never have a built in audience like that.
An audience that sits in front of a screen or a device and goes DERP, *click* Disney. They'll have some, but never that many. They need another flagship show, first of all.
Another Spongebob, because Spongebob's kind of *cough* washed up? But you could just throw a few dozen million to Steven Hillenburg again. Joe Murray (Rocko's, Laszlo) is also very available right now, and I'd seriously be looking hard for his number if I was over there.
You can't do game shows though. Game shows are just at the bottom of their cycle now. Television is transforming at an astonishing rate, but still.. come back in another 10, maybe 12 years and maybe people will be watching game shows again.
I'd go hard 'reality', like everyone else, a handful of those 'reality-based' shows, there is still no end to that train (well, maybe in 10, 12 years... BUT we still have plenty of time until then.) I'd also steal Andy Merrill from Turner Networks / Boomerang and put him directly in charge of after-school lineup and give him a large hammer. I am spending a lot of money at this point though. Lol.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
