I am against it, especially the Muslim brand which degrades women The Bible seems to allow it, at least in the Old Testament, but it never recommends it, in the New Testament it is disallowed for elders in the church. All of Scripture frowns on it, as accounts are always describing difficult situations because of it. For examples, power struggles between sisters, Leah and Rachel, Hannah's difficulties with her husband's other wife, Solomon's problems were due to his great number of foreign wives.

Muslims, (especially Taliban but others too) as they increase in number in any society, will work to change that society's laws. Of course in their society woman are treated like dogs. In Afghanistan, when ruled by the Taliban, it was against the law for a woman to show even her ankles or any tiny piece of skin to the sun, upon pain of severe beating.

Muslims insist more and more their laws be OBEYED in every culture, that is their goal. See the list of laws for women on this website - http://www.rawa.org/rules.htm .

The Mormons have tried this for years. Women who are fortunate enough to escape will tell you that it is virtual slavery. You might as well live in the Middle East if you want that kind of setup.

They are told how to wear their hair, what to wear, marry men who are old enough to be their grandfathers, and are made to breed like cattle. In reality, it certainly is difficult for a woman to accept another in her husband's life, how would you like to live with four others with their children? Then, there is the realistic choice every night of who he spends the night with--ummm, choices for him but not for her.

How convenient. Ontario is accepting the Moslem tradition for Moslems, not for Canadians. It will never happen that women will have multiple husbands while this is a pateralistic society.

Multiple partners are seen as a sign of virility for men. Before knowledge of birth control, monogamy was the only way you could tell who a child's father was. For women in society, multiples are still viewed as an indication that she's a whore.

Always has been, always will be.

Ma always said it takes a village to raise a child...and I know several people that have kids with different mama's. Of course they're not married to any of them, they just pay out a whole lotta child support. In the end it just hurts the kids. I mean if they could all live together then it would probably be a lot easier to support each other and take care of the kids.

Each wife has to be given her own home. In the case of US polygamous marriages, it's typical that the wives each apply for food-stamps and social services. And since they typically don't believe in birth control it can become an enormous burden on a community.

Also, I did not know that multiple marriages (wives) for Muslims is acceptable by law in Ontario. "Is it acceptable for Jewish men to have multiple wives in Ontario? Because scripture allows them only as many as they can afford to house.

I mean then they get child care credits as well because they have to work and no one is there to take care of the kids. Let them be married. At least the kids will have someone to take care of them that they are actually related to.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
