You need to get him some other toys. He's a kitten. He has to play with SOMETHING.

It's a NEED, not a WANT. Get him some of those toys that are a stick with a string and a feathery thing at the end of the string. Use that to play with him.

Cats LOVE that. Use it to get his energy out. Let him jump and run and pounce for it.

Some toy mice and balls he can play with on his own will help too. The bottom line is he HAS to play and for cats "play" includes scratching and biting. So if you play with your hands, you're going to get bit and scratched.
