Neither Windows nor Linux allow file names and directory names to be the same in the same directory as far as I know. Under Linux of course they can be the same with different case lettering :).
I'm not trying to save a file with the same name, I'm just trying to get the path so I could append file extension to it. JFileChooser apparently doesn't know that, and that's my problem: he thinks I'm gonna save file exactly with the same name I entered and opens a folder instead. If there's any other way to automatically append a file extension, that would do.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
