Private schools should be banned as they reinforce social inequality: good idea or more socialist nonsense?

1 Ummm .... don't worry. The only ones who espouse communism and denounce class elitism are the elite and extrememly wealthy, who've never had to imagine the world they would create through their faux egalitarianism. All of our liberal presidential candidates went to the best schools and owned dozens of luxurious homes.

John Lennon imagined a world without possessions and wondered if YOU can, but wait'll you see what would happen to you if you put your mits on his yacht, fence, or polo ball without an invitation. Class Elitism is here to stay -- it is the last bastion of the liberals. None of them would want to give up what made them elite and special.

2 Let's see how accurate Yellowdog's comment is about the 'elite and extremely wealthy who espouse communism and denounce class elitism': 1. President and Mrs. Obama sent their daughters to a private school in Chicago, at a cost of about $37,000 per year ($18,492 for each child). cnsnews.com/news/article/378512.President Obama's Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, was educated at the same pricey private school the Obama girls attended in Chicago.

time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1866.... Arne Duncan was Chicago Public Schools CEO. He ran the same public schools the Obama family spurned when choosing education for their daughters.

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1866783,00.html4. The Obamas send their daughters to private schools in (or near) Washington at a cost of $57,882 per year. Looks like Yellowdog may be onto something!.

So, I would say, "More socialist nonsense." People are inherently unequal in their capabilities. If left to live free of coercion, some will rise to the top.

Others will sink to the bottom. It is only by taking from the more capable and giving to the less capable that this can be counteracted. But this is the very principle of communism: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs."

QED. Given the horrible track record of communism in the 20th century (100 million dead at its hands), why would we be wanting to put the principles of communism into effect in the 21st century?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
