I guess the moral to the story is the sdk doesn't play well with navigationcontroller based apps who's views have mixed orientations. The link does go into a tricky work-around that might suffice. However, now I'm just thinking I will go all portrait, or all portrait/landscape.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
