During the primary process, the candidate's focus is to win the Party....and to do that they must appeal to the most active (i.e. "will turn out to vote" segment). In the 2008 primaries, Hillary tried to paint Obama as a "radical"....If you recall, the "muslim thing" and the "birth certificate" thing actually originated out of the DEMOCRATIC primaries and not from the Republicans...Obama's refusal to wear a flag pin early on, and his associations with Bill Ayers were all used by Hillary to appeal to "moderates" in her party.
Unfortunately, she completely mis-read the pulse of the voting population. For the most part, moderates stayed home during the early primaries and Obama rode to the head of the class by appealing to the fervent anti-War and anti-Bush crowd, traditional "victim" classes and the emotional Youth vote.
Huntsman is a moderate. So is Romney. The fact that you don't think of Huntsman as a moderate means you are really far to the left.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
