The center speaker is for on-screen audio which usually includes most dialogue. Sometimes as a character is at the edge of the screen or off-screen, the audio will go through the left or right speaker instead. When you switch from 5.1 to stereo, the dialogue comes from both front speakers and you lose its directionality.
You also hear the dialogue from 2 speakers rather than 1, so it sounds louder. If the center speaker seems quiet or lacks dynamics, it could be one or both of these 2 things: 1. The individual speaker levels aren't set properly on your receiver.
You need to run it's auto-calibration program or manually increase the center channel level until it matches the other speakers (see manual). 2. The left and right speakers are of greater quality than the center speaker.
They sound more dynamic because they're capable of greater dynamics. The only way to really fix this is to replace your center speaker with one that better matches your other speakers.
Most modern tuners come with a microphone you hook up to the tuner and place in the primary listening position. The tuner will then calibrate itself by playing a series of sounds through the speakers which it then listens to how loud it is coming through the microphone, and sets the levels accordingly. If your tuner does not have this feature, you may consider an upgrade.
Also, are you using a matched 5.1 set? As a person who started his home theater life with mix-and-match speakers, I can tell you this can make calibrating an audio system a real pain in the butt. Good speakers cost good money.
I run a matched Klipsch set, and with the F-30's up front, the bookshelf speakers in the back, the center channel, and the sub, I prolly got an easy $1000 just in speakers. If that sounds like I'm bragging because it's a lot, trust me, it's NOT. $1000 for home theater speakers is NOTHING.
But they are decent and they're matched so setup and calibration is a piece of cake, and sound quality even for a system of this level is AMAZING. So, in summary, make sure your tuner is modern and can calibrate itself, and make sure you're using matched speakers, and you'll have a MUCH better experience.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
