There are many treatments which you can buy to treat hairballs/furballs. Some of these are natural, some are not. Hairballs/furballs can be potential dangerous if your cat or dog cannot pass it.(Sometimes dogs that lick and chew the hair can develop a problem.) There are treatments which can help your cat or dog dislodge these uncomfortable and dangerous balls of hair/fur from their digestive tract.

There are so many things on the market which have toxic ingredients in them. I prefer to avoid these and use natural things to treat my animals. I also like to use things that can be found in my kitchen, they work as well, and they are less expensive.

Try a vegetable shortening, such as Crisco, this will assist in the passing of the hairball/furball either in vomiting it up or passing in the stool. You can also try mineral oil, vegetable oil, or olive oil added to the animal’s food; these too can cause easy vomiting which will bring up the ball or help in the passing the ball in the animal’s feces. You can also use a ½ to 1 teaspoon of butter, feeding the butter off your finger or adding it to food.

If this fails, you can try a homeopathic remedy which treats hairballs/furballs, such as those made by PetAlive and NaturVet. If there is still a problem, you can use a product by Vet’s Best called Hairball Relief, these tablets consist of an herb that lubricates the digestive track naturally and can help prevent and eliminate hairballs. If you are still not having any luck and you cat or dog is in distress, choking, coughing and having dry heaves contact your vet.

To prevent hairballs/furballs, groom your cat or dog often by combing their hair thereby, removing loose hair deshed their hair by using a deshedder tool. This will tug out the dead hair loose and removes it. You can feed your cat fish oil by adding 1 teaspoon of oil to their food at least once a week.

The will help lubricate the hairball/furball allowing it to pass. For a dog which tends to lick and chew its hair, try 1-2 teaspoon(s) of vegetable or olive oil, once or twice a week mixing it with their food. You can also look for natural hairball remedies for felines and canines, gels/paste that you can give your animal.

Look for NAURAL, ones with NO preservatives. These can be found at pet stores. I hope that this helps you.

There is a theory ( that I personally agree with ) that if a cat has a problem with hairballs he by definition has a form of IBD --- think about it -- all cats groom themselves and as such all cats ingest hair but very few cats have problems with hairballs --- thus it is felt that these cats have a sensitive intestinal system to begin --- there are diets formulated to help with hairballs and some work very well --- you can use a product like laxatone or cat lax which contains petroleum jelly in a palatable formula that most cats like --- you can play with how often you need to use these products -- usually 1 -2 times a week ---- if the problem becomes severe then the cat can be placed on a medication called metoclopramide which prevents vomiting and a very low dose of prednisone to act as an anti inflammatory for the intestinal tract --- try the diet or laxatone first and if you don't get results consult your veterinarian about your options .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
