1 newbieornotnewbie, regarding your answer "Try putting boiling water on it first to melt the fruit rollup, then try the cleaning stuff. ":I disagree. The boiling water would only make the stain spread (like this would work for a FABRIC if you could hold it taut and pour the water through the fabric over a sink.) And the second reason why this is problematic is that the OP has already used chemical solutions.
That precludes several home remedy type things.
2 BizzyDitch, regarding your answer "What I'd use....":If you're into home remedies, peroxide works immediately (and magically) on blood stains. The problem, of course, is that it could cause more harm since you've already used several solutions. Before I'd do either the wine away or the zout, I'd make sure that the area was cleaned very well with clear water, with the residue blotted up as much as possible.
You don't want chemical interactions (not that it'd hurt YOU, but it might SET the stain in the rug and make it worse. ) .
Carefully (and I do mean carefully) do a test spot with hydrogen peroxide. I've taken out blood in seconds and cat vomit stains (I know -- ick!) from my beige wool carpet. I tested it first, though, on a piece of the carpet we have downstairs under our treadmill.
I used a 50% peroxide and 50% water solution, but I'd bet even less (maybe 25% peroxide) would probably still work. Another good cleaner for bad stains is soda water, like they use to mix drinks. I'm not sure I have the name right.
I saw my sister take a red wine stain out or her white drapery with it. Hydrogen peroxide, though, is the best thing I've ever found for this type of thing.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
