You have asked for advice, and have received some good opinions. Look up Dr. Deb Bennett's "Ranger" article. You do need to learn what she has to say, whether you agree with her or not.
Read also Xenophon's "On Horsemanship" because he was working in the era before saddles but with bits. Part of his discussion of how to train a horse should be memorised: “For what the horse does under compulsion, as Simon also observes, is done without understanding; and there is no beauty in it either, any more than if one should whip and spur a dancer. There would be a great deal more ungracefulness than beauty in either a horse or a man that was so treated.
No, he should show off all his finest and most brilliant performances willingly and at a mere sign.” There's a lot more. Look it up.
Either way riding tackless is still very dangerous even with a more experienced horse. Right now the young horse should focus on you and not too much of trying out experiments. Also riding with a saddle would be better until your horse matures so the back doesn't get prone to injury from early on.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
