No. You aren't paying attention. The Roman Catholic Church is not anywhere close to schism.
The Church is the most progressive outfit on earth. You need to visit the Vatican website and get a clue. Gee, I wonder if the healthcare debate in the US is being influenced by Catholic abortion policies?
Get a clue. Garbage in, garbage out. You need to feed your head with the right stuff.
Look at the Pontifical Academies if you think the Church is moving backwards. They are at the forefront of all liberal arts and relevant science. We can't keep enough priests in the United States to serve the parishes here because they are spreading out worldwide like mad.
Are you joking? Schism? There are teeeensy little groups who want female priests or reformulation of the triune doctrines or small concerns like that.
There is nothing close to schism. The biggest scandal in the 20th Century in the media portrayal of Catholicism was the less than 4 percent of priests involved in child abuse of one form or another. Some of those priests only THOUGHT about molesting children, but they are treated as if they actually DID do it.
So less than 4 percent is the biggest scandal? Gimme a break. Vatican II caused much more of an uproar, but it is under continual refinement right now.
Remember, it just started less than 50 years ago.
No. That would then be a Protestant sect, and not the Catholic Church. There is not such thing as a "liberal Catholic Church."
You either are Catholic or you are not. Liberals tend to disagree with all the moral teachings of the Church. This you cannot do and remain Catholic.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
