Sara Jane Olson (AKA Kathleen Soliah) who was part of the Symbionese Liberation Army was in jail for attempted murder and second degree murder. The attempted murder charges related to her planting bombs in police cars. The second degree murder charge was from a bank robbery where a customer was shot and killed in the 70s.

In 2001, she pled guilty to two counts of possessing explosives with intent to murder stemming from her SLA activities in the 1970s. She was mistakenly released for five days in March 2008 due to an error made in calculating her parole before being rearrested.
