Since you mention you're using jQuery, I would recommend you to give a look to the FieldSelection plugin. That plugin will help you to get information about where the cursor is currently placed.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
