Should a true Conservative receive money from "Socialist" programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid...?

Welfare should be eliminated, Medicaid and Medicare should be auctioned off to private health care firms, and the administration of all entitlement programs (and 95% of government jobs) should be outsourced to private companies. As far as Social Security, no one should get it until they are 72. 64% of our federal budget, which is 67% funded, is mandatory spending, otherwise known as Entitlements.

That means that 95.52% of our the money that is brought in by the federal government goes to social security, welfare, medicare, medicaid, and interest on the debt. The entire military budget could disappear tomorrow and we would STILL be under water financially. Our national debt is now 90% of GDP.

Pretty soon, other countries are going to stop lending us money, then there will be riots when people are no longer getting their 'Gubment Cheeze". All of the entitlements were put in place by FDR, LBJ, and the Democrat majorities of the day. They are the real reason we are in the financial mess we are in, although every administration and congress afterward is guilty of "kicking the can down the road" rather than dealing with the problem.

The only one you list that shouldn't be touched is welfare. If they required and payed for schooling to recipients, The time spent on it would be less. Also if they helped people when they first were headed for trouble as opposed to when they were down and out.

It would reduce the time people were on it. Just by cutting out the add on's and pork in each bill that they passed would be a tremendous savings. Why does Kennedy need another library?

Why is the federal government still growing? Even the state level is reducing their size. Why do construction contracts have to go to union labor?

There are many areas that can be trimmed but the alarmist all want to say that the services have to get cut first. That isn't true. Why is government health care on a separate tier then what the citizens get?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
