Oh, lots of reasons. First-- the Committee that runs the debates is a private (not government) committee... established by Dems & Reps. It is a bi-partisan group.
NOt a NON-partisan group. They only have to invite who they want to come... they are not required to invite all the candidates. In fact, it would not be in the interst of Dems or Reps if the other candidates showed up.
2nd-- there have been debates by the 3rd party candidates. It's hard for them to even get air time. No one watches them.
This is largely still a 2-party system. We allow other parties, but they're not dominant. 3rd-- until there is real election reform, and until 3rd platforms get better developed platforms and find wider support/funding, a 3rd party would really not have a shot.
So throwing a vote at a 3rd party candidate is as good as throwing a vote away-- and a good way to assure that the guy who is less in line with your values & priorities will win. The point is clear: it's going to be Obama or Romey... those voting Libertarian are just taking votes away from Romney (who is generally more in line with Libertarian platforms) and those who vote for the Green Party, Socialist party, Communist Party, etc., are just taking votes away from Obama (who is more in line with those platforms). You're basically taking the votes away from your best next choice, so why do it?
There has to be some major changes before a 3rd party stands a chance-- but those changes won't come this close to an election.
I notice an uptick in avatars uplifting 3rd party no chance candidates. A back door appeal to peel off Romney votes. About all Obama has left to save his sorry career.
No Obama or More Obama. You're best and single chance to No Obama? Romney.
DEAL with it and choose.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
