Should I buy disney stock now that they bought star wars?

Step one is to open an account with an online broker, like Scottrade. They have offices in every decent sized city, go online and look them up. Deposit the 5K and a day or so later the funds will be available for trading.

Log into your account, select "buy" and go to town. Here is what I would do though...Since Scottrade only charges $7 for a trade, I would go in using what is called "dollar cost averaging." The first day, just buy 30 shares, that is about $1,540 at today's price ($51.41 per share) plus $7 commission.

In December, buy another 30 shares. Then buy another 30 shares (or whatever you have left in cash) in February. There are some ill winds blowing in the stock market and even though Disney is a good company, the market will drag it down in the next few months.

Since I don't know that is 100% certain, if you buy on three dates, you will minimize the risk of a downturn right off the bat. Be wary of some of the other answers. "Day Trading for Dummies" is the last book you should be reading in your situation.

NEVER believe a company "won't fail you." They don't care about YOU. They care about their bottom line, and Disney may or may not be there in ten years.

You don't know. THEY don't know. Contact a broker or investment firm that will help you invest your money where it will do a lot of good over a long period of time.

Have a plan in place--how much you want to invest, and how you want your finances to look in 5 years, 10 years, and further. It's usually better to diversify, not sink all your money into one company or one stock, especially since you don't have that much to invest. (it may seem like a lot of money, but it's not, investment-wise.) Things have GREATLY changed since your grandmother's time.

You need to become as educated as possible and find a firm you can trust to do what's best for your money and your future.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
