Should I downgrade Windows 7 x64 to either x32/x86?

X86 is the same as x32, both 32 bit OS, and x64 is 64bit OS. 32 bit OS can only use 3.5GB of RAM at max, while 64bit OS can take much more, 128GB if I remembered correctly.. Since it's rare to see any computers below 4GB of RAM in today's world(even the $400ish laptop got 4GB..), i'd say x64 windows 7 is the way to go. If you have less than 4GB of RAM, it won't matter, you can still use x64.

I would suggest x64 windows 7, for a couple of reasons: 1. If you have less than 4GB of RAM, I don't think you will never upgrade...so have some space for future always help. In fact, if you don't have at least 2 GB of RAM, idk why would you want to upgrade..it will not run nearly as well with below 2GB of RAM compared to XP.

The more RAM you give windows 7, the faster it runs. It's real good at taking advantage of RAM compared to XP. 2.

Computers actually run faster under x64 systems, maybe not by a lot, because majority of the programs today are still x32, but why not take the advantage? Programs that don't have a 64bit version will automatically run in 32bit mode, so no problems whatsoever. 3.

If you are worrying about compatibility issues under x64, I would say don't worry. Windows 7 automatically downloads the drivers you need, even if your hardware is not supported for the manufacture anymore. (I got an old Dell from 2004, and it runs windows 7 x64 perfectly with hardware from 2004, and I bet those hardware are not designed for 64bit systems) So yea..go with the x64, it can't hurt.

You will need a decent processor such as an i5, i7 or x4, x6 to run x64. You will also need at least 4gb of RAM. Since you are using XP x32, it is more than likely that your computer will not run x64 stably.

X86 is the same as 32-bit. So without knowing your computer specs, I cannot tell if you can use the x64. The x64 is definitely better than x86 however.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
