Should I get a Nvidia GTX 780 or an AMD R9-290x?

I'm looking at the g41 chipset and the rest of your specs I would go with a gtx 660 ti or a gtx 670 on the amd side a amd hd 6870 these I what I recommend not mistaken booth gpu you mention are backwards compatible but might experience a small reduce in gpu clock speeds.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
