Should I learn greek, italian, hindi, or russian?

Dunno, it's a bit of a mystery. Maybe - and this is just my own theory - when thousands of Latin words came into English they lost their gender identity because Latin has no words like Le or La, un or une, to indicate gender so gender was forgotten and in time the habit of gender abandonment spread to Germanic-derived nouns too. Abandoning male or female gender for all nouns couldn't happen in Welsh because there IS no neuter form.

I've always found it interesting in French how UNE star, UNE victime, UNE personne, UNE canaille (rascal) UNE troupe stays feminine eevn when it refers to a man. And QUELQU'UN is never QUELQU'UNE.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
