Should I plead guilty or not guilty?

Nope only if the person has been found to . Be incompetent . Then the medical doctor will take care of things .

A person should only be allowed to plead guilty where the court is satisfied that he has capacity to plead, i.e. Does not suffer from mental illness which would render him unable to understand what he is doing. There is no reason to suppose that this is the case here, or you would be saying so.

Occasionally a person pleads guilty and then says something to the court which makes it quite clear that in fact he had a valid defence to the charge. This is known as an equivocal plea. If this happens (and it is highly unusual), then the plea is set aside and he will stand trial.

Again, there is no reason to believe that this was the case with your friend, whose plea was accepted by the court. As the consequences of his plea of guilty are so serious, the court will have ensured that he was represented by the duty solicitor if he had not instructed his own lawyer. This is a strict liability offence, i.e.

If you are found in possession of such images as a private individual then you have to admit the charge. If there is any reason to suppose that this is simply a technical plea of guilty and that there is a convincing reason for the court to impose a nominal sentence, then his legal representative will have to ensure that this reason is argued before the court. If there is such a reason, then it would be surprising that your friend did not mention it to you.

This is a remarkably complex area and you may find it useful to read through the contents of this link. http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/h_to_k/indec...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
