Should Lil Wayne be allowed to sign autographs while serving time in prison?

I guess I'm sort of amused that anyone thinks that other prisoners would want his autograph. Maybe they do. But frankly, I don't see the point of the ban.

Somehow I doubt that he is in regular lock down with everyone else; but again maybe he is. I didn't think that prisons would put celebrities in with the main population for fear of their safety. A restriction on autographs actually causes the opposite reaction in my URL1 makes him seem more famous because he is now being told that he isn't famous.

It's like pointing something out to a child that he or she can't have and not having noticed that the child didn't want it anyway. But once alerted that she can't have it, then she notices and wants it. I wonder, did martha stewart have the same restrictions when she was in jail?

First he is not in prison Rikers Island is a city jail. The other inmates will have access to him and will be able to get his autograph. As in all jails Correction Officers are not allowed to get autographs.

He will be put into general population as he is not a special target. Also unless there has been some sort of change I don't know why they say he will be out in 8 months for good time. I know someone who got sentenced for a gun in NYC and the law was 1 year with no good time back then, it was a flat sentence.

He will have plenty of friends who are wanna-bees in the business who will try to audition for him. He will most likely be forced to work at some job in the system after he has proven himself as he is in on a weapons charge.

I agree. Prison is punishment and those that are incarcerated should have no merit. We all know that it unfortunately feeds their celebrity status..but it shouldn't.

If I am placed in jail because I've done something wrong, I am not allowed to do anything related to my career while I was a free woman. I can't go to work, network with clients, or perform any of the tasks that help me to make a living. My punishment is that I lose those rights, and my job as well.

He may not lose his "celebrity status" but he surely shouldn't be permitted to "work" while he's in prison. Celebrities are given too much weight when it comes to having to follow the same rules as the rest of us. It's horrible that they can party, be obnoxiously drunk in public, have torrid affairs, and this just makes them that much more appealing as celebrities.

While if I were to do this, I would likely lose my job, and any worth.

Why should prisoners like Charles Manson et al. Be allowed to sign autographs when they are famous for committing murder, when someone like Lil Wayne, who is famous for his musical talent, is not? It seems a little silly to deny him spreading some cheer around the prison that could positively impact both Lil Wayne and other prisoners.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
