Definitely they need to differentiate the sister sites. However, I don't believe that a different color or frame would be appropriate, the site is already full of colors and many people won't recognize it. I think that it would be best if they insert a tag for all the sister sites questions or a small icon which can be easily identified.
Some kind of a clear visual indication that it's a sister site question would be great. I don't know if a different color is the best way to do it, as it may make the page look a mess. But something that makes it obvious before you click on it that you'll be going off site, maybe some special badge or whatever.
I agree that there are a number of glitches that make asking and answering sister site questions less attractive. A main annoyance for me is that when you click on activity in your Mahalo profile for a sister-site question, you end up with a "Page not found", because the link tries to find the page on mahalo. Com instead of the sister site.
That makes keeping up conversation on sister site threads painful.
Yes there should be. I'm also annoyed because there's no way for me to log into some of those sister-sites since I connect with Mahalo through Facebook. I can only post in God of War 3 questions, and I forget what the other one is.So yes, I'm annoyed.
Absolutely! There are other issues - for now, anyway. I find it hard to maneuver back and forth between Mahalo and the sister sites.
And, on the tabs in my browser, they appear to be the same, so I can't even use that method to separate. I'm sure they'll get these worked out. But, I think it is good to keep pointing these glitches out to them.
Thanks, opher!
Until things are fixed, such as: - these sites accepting my already being signed into Mahalo via twitter - rev share - and point structure I will not answer questions on these sites. I think that not only is it a detriment to my time and efforts, but it's also diluting the power of Mahalo proper. It kills me to do it too, because I get all revved up to answer a question and then skulk away as I consider the question to be just another ordinary forum post.My M$.02.
Cheers!
All of the "glitches" sited above are so valid. Hopefully, someone who can do something about it is listening in and taking this info to heart. I gave GuruTeam a shot, which is a Sister Site immersion program. It's a great way to get familiar with all of them - more by the day.
By working the team, the rev share issue is moot point. It's like building/repairing pages on Go Team. You get paid.
One other thing I've been wondering - do we get Mahalo points when we answer a Sister Site question? If no, I don't think I'll go there a lot. Except on GuruTeam.
Makes it easy.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
