No. Instead, get a degree and just be in decent shape. You don't have to be a sniper and totally jacked to be an officer.
There are other, more important traits for an officer to have. The average officer goes his entire career without shooting his gun on duty.
The training you will get in the military will not do much for you as a police officer, apart from teach you how to spit-shine your boots, and properly press your uniform. If you wanted some police training, ask for Military Police. There you will learn basic police skills; use of sidearms, and light machine guns.... Some of those skills may assist you in civilian policing.
After your hitch, most Police Departments would be glad to have you and it certainly wouldn't hurt your police career.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
