Should the amount of questions someone asks exceed the amount of answers they provide?

In my opinion the amount of answers you provide should be greater than the number of questions you ask, because it is what needed in an answering community. Questions can be imported via Twitter or from newbies. But the answers are the things which are most of the visitors to Mahalo are expecting for.

Only a few hunt for questions and answer them. Also Answers help you for your Income as well as Belt level. But questions don't.

:p Actually the number of questions and answers is not going to play a big role except in the rank of questions and answers , which you can brag with your buddies. :).

I don't think it matters too much; look at someone like @davepamn who adds tons of useful information to the site! However, people expect multiple answers on each question; I don't think you should answer if you have no idea what your talking about though. I mean, if someone is on here asking stupid things like "How is my hair", "Whats for lunch", "Whats your favorite color" and just rambling on all day about useless nothing and never answering, well, thats no good!

So long as the questions are such that they add value to the site I don't see a problem with this. When it comes time for an individual to gain a higher belt level I imagine MA staff take this into consideration and will discuss with that member the need to answer more questions to become even more a part of the community. The site wouldn't be able to survive if we didn't have people asking questions, just like it wouldn't survive if we didn't have people answering, many people will find a happy medium between the two but others might find their strength to be to one extreme or the other :).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
