Should the USA form a "Czar run Pay Panel" to study union wages and benefits in this country and make that the new minimum wage standard?

This sounds great... which is what scares me about it. I am sure that I am not educated enough to give the best answer here but I will add my thoughts for some measure. 1.

Czar run Pay Panel? I think the selection process of this Czar would be difficult with neither party liking the selection of the other and if this Czar(s) was a Presidential appointee(s) then if selected in opposition to the other party would be a certain "Get out of office free" card for the next election. The process of agreeing on who this or these Czars would be might be could be very painful and costly.2.

Minimum wage AND minimum benefits? Oh my God! This sounds great but I feel that those opposed to putting additional burdens on business big and small like a minimum benefit package for every employee would fight this to the death.

I have a small business and cannot afford to give myself a minimum benefit package and would be in immediate non compliance with this regulation or any like it.. but adding this type of benefit package to EVERY employee is a Utopian masterpiece if it could be effectively implemented without bankrupting small business. 3. The foundation based on union contracts?(teacher, auto, steel, trucking) 100 % yes yes yes 4.

Would this work? Not a chance like most things that require agreements between Republican and Democrats this would not have a chance in Hell of ever getting to the desk of the President as a bill to willingly sign.5. What would this do to the economy?

After initial some "getting used to the cost" readjustments that could take decades this would save the economy of the United States by allowing everyone who has a job to keep enough of their own money to live on without having to worry about the rising costs of quality medical and dare I say dental care. I think we all agree if people had more money to spend in their own pockets that the economy would be magnificent. 6.

Would the nation be better or worse ultimately? I see worse initially but after (as I mentioned above) the correction period and if this correction period did not just flat bankrupt the United States then we would be a FAR better nation in the end. Truly a plan fro the masses if this could be hammered out economically, agreed upon by both parties, and willingly signed into law by the President of the United States.

I will give it a yes vote for my willingness to revamp my own personal finances to better suit my business and health needs and the hopeful willingness of the country to make sacrifices now to have a better country in the future. Better benefits = better health = happier people.. lets just hope we can find a way to bear the costs.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
