Should unemployed people dedicate more time to volunteering to gain valuable skills while not working and to contribute in a meaningful way?

It depends on why they're unemployed. Some people absolutely need the money, and absolutely need to find themselves a job as soon as possible so they can make rent, keep the lights on, or eat. They just won't have time, probably, to do things like that.

Finding a job, or at least ways to make money, is the top priority. But for people who don't have this problem, for instance, if they're just out of school, living with their parents, or the like, then volunteering is an excellent idea, for the reasons you listed above. A lot of their expenses are met, and it sure looks better than being "funemployed" and doing nothing!

In some cases, yes. I know people who have done this and they've personally found it very rewarding. That being said, if you find yourself unemployed, I think the best thing to do is to spend every waking minute trying to find a job.

I guess it's a tough call, and is probably one that should be made based on preference as well as finances.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
