Should US citizens go to jail alongside murderers and rapists for marijuana offences?

No - and while I am not "420 friendly" I do believe marijuana should be regulated just like alcohol and tobacco. Its a wonder "big tobacco" isn't jumping on the bandwagon of selling "reefers". Could you imagine the immense savings to our justice system?

Won't have to pay for law enforcement in any branch to handle marijuana related crime (except tax evaders), no prison expenses, court fees -as well the influx of taxes from the legal sale of marijuana would get the country out of debt in just a few years. ...and there are those people who still believe marijuana is an evil drug... these are the same people hooked on prescription drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and porn. I've never seen someone stoned angry or upset.. hungry maybe... but not angry or violent.

Did you know that most states already have a "drug stamp" - look it up in your state - they are ready for the legalization of marijuana. Simply put, legalize it - get these people out of our prison system - free up our legal resources, increase tourism like Amsterdam and pay off our national debt... win win win win win. I personally believe that marijuana should be legalized for the many financial reasons. We could make billions off of taxing it. We would save billions by not arresting, having trials, and using up limited jail space by legalizing weed.

Have a great day :).

Nope, there must be a separate penalty system for Drug addicts as living with jails with rapist and murderers would also make them criminals of the same kind.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
