Should we change the "Jus soli" principle?

In my opinion the "Jus soli" principle was feasible at a time when immigrants to America had to travel 40 days or more on a ship in order to reach the country. Nowadays (with 8-hour flights) it is really no longer required. Besides the countries in the Americas only 4 other countries on earth (Cambodia, Fiji, Lesotho, Pakistan) still apply to it In my country only children born to at least one parent who holds citizenship or who has been permanent resident like Green Card holder in the U.S. for at least three years and has resided for at least eight years acquire birthright citizenship.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
