That can fall under a few reasons: 1) There are some people that are scared of things different from them. They reject them and avoid them so they don't have to understand. Sure, it makes things easier for them, but they don't really realize that they are hurting those around them for the sake of their oblivious bliss.
2) There are the type that just need someone to harass to make themselves feel better. Have you ever met someone that says, " I'm so perfect, and beautiful, and great, and YOU'RE NOT! "?
Well, that's because they don't have someone to say that for them. They have to be their own wing-man. Everyone one knows the are worthless, but it's their own fault, because they don't have someone to understand their ( possibly very little) value.
Those people often resort to picking on those that are different, so they can redeem themselves and heal that oh so very deep inflicted wound. 3) There are those that find it disgusting. Maybe they feel that it's weird.
Maybe they had a bad experience with the LGBT community when they were still learning about the world. These people just need someone to show them that just because one gay man is mean and hurtful towards them, doesn't mean that everyone else in the LGBT community is. It's more of an inductive thought process.
They just want to make a safe call, even if that means jumping off a cliff blind folded so they don't have to see their own mistakes. They would simply blame the blind fold, even if they tied it there. 4) The brainwashed people.
Those that had it beaten mercilessly into their heads that " GAY IS NOT THE WAY! AHHHHH HATE HATE HATE! ".
They would think that is is some how wrong, immoral, or otherwise to be gay. They consider it a sin, if you will, that is self inflicted. They think you are dooming yourself and those all around you.
They hate you because they are not willing to grasp that you are what you are, and it's just fine that way. They feel the need to make you feel useless so you will convert to their ways, and be "right". 5) They could be in denial.
Consider, that if your arm got cut off, would you be able to come to terms with it? You would sit there, thinking how you wish you still had your arm so you could be "normal". Compare that to being gay.
Some are in denial that they are gay, and there fore reject themselves, and all those that are in their likeness. They don't want to be hated, but accepted so much, that they become a what they don't want so they can shield out their own self esteem. This normally goes away.
Some people just need time to understand that you can't change who you are. But hear me out, I am not condoning these behaviors. I dislike them.
But this is the pattern I've seen in gay hating people. Hope that provided you with some insight.
People "hate" gays because society wants them to. Gays are basically the blacks of a hundred years ago, you see what I mean? Those crazy religious people always want someone to pick on.
They think they are perfect and everyone who isn't exactly like them deserves ridicule. Whatever the case may be, I for see America getting over it, like they did with the blacks. I cant wait for my generation to take over!
(No offense to the old people).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
