I liked his music; him I could do without Ike and Tina Turner opened for the Beatles when I saw them in concert in 1964. I’m a big fan of good ol’ American R&B-style rock and roll, and I think their music was really great. It was hard to remain a fan of Ike’s when they broke up and the details of the relationship became public, though.
Unlike Tina, his solo work wasn’t nearly as good as their joint work. I continue to be a great fan of Tina’s. I have many of her songs and albums going back to the vinyl days.
I love to watch her dance. The woman has wonderful energy and talent. One of my favorite videos is of her dancing with Rod Stewart.
What a trip, the two of them bopping around on the stage! Video .
Ike Turner - Great Underrated Rock and Roll Legend I think that Ike Turner was one of the first rock and roll legends. He (in my opinion should have been the King instead of Elvis), they should at least called him "the father of rock and roll". The problems was that he let his demons get the best of him (like many musically creative people) and that overshadowed his countless contributions to music in the 20th century.
Ike Turner did more than introduce Tina to the world. He created the genre along with Sam Cooke, Little Richard and others and folks like Elvis just emulated it and made it mainstream (read "white"). Remember, back in the 50’s, Rock ’n Roll was considered the music of "outsiders" and was dismissed as a fad.
The only popular music was Cole Porter-esque ballads and Jazz, are said to be a "higher class" of music. Looking back now, The rock music back then left a better impression on me (myself being born in the 80’s) than those swinging Sinatra hits, yet I find it ironic that black people dismiss Rock music as being "white". I hope I did not offend anyone with my comments, but that is how I feel.
Ike Turner is as great of a legend as Elvis, Sinatra or any of the Beatles and should be held in the same level of regard.
Don't like him Regardless of talent, any man who abuses his wife will never earn my respect.
1 I respect a man who knows how to properly beat his wife. Yeah, that was sarcastic. As you might suspect, Im not too impressed with the man.
Tina Turner was much better solo...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
