I am enclosing two check lists that go from 12 months to the day of the wedding. However, not knowing your date, this should help you get started and of course you can mark out the things you will not be having as your wedding is to be a small one. As for venues, do not know, some places have local VFW and Elks lodges.
Some churches rent out their social hall. A park maybe if you want an outside wedding, but you must have a back-up plan in case it rains. Do you have a relative or a good friend who has a bigger house with perhaps a formal living room, just for ceremony and then the den and bar, kitchen area could be used for serving finger foods, cake and punch.
With a small ceremony, you will not need many finger foods, or some people offer just cake and punch. A good punch recipe, tart, is equal parts apple juice and white grape juice. This is almost the color of champagne, can add some Sprite to lighten color and make it go further.
You can freeze this in gallon milk jugs and unthaw to consistency you want,ie: many people like a "slushy' punch. Very cooling, especially if wedding is in hot weather. Of course, be responsible for helping clean the house and clean up after the wedding or have someone to help and be responsible enough to offer to have carpet cleaned if necessary, in case of spills.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
