Someone just started using my Avatar. Is it proper Askville etiquette to ask them to change it? It's the same as mine(Grandmabx).
I have had it a long time and it really stands out. At a glance other Askviller's might think it's mine and I don't know what questions this person may ask and people may think it's me. What do you think.
Goodness knows I don't want to offend anyone? Asked by grandmabx 22 months ago Similar questions: started Avatar proper Askville etiquette change Amazon > Askville.

The same thing happened to me once. Over a year ago the same thing happened to me. A new person just happened to pick my Avatar.
I sent the new person a PM and just said, "welcome to Askville but I just want to make you aware that I have the same Avatar and have for a long time now. Maybe it would be a good idea for you to pick another one so the rest of the members do not get us mixed up. " I also said if you need any advice learning the ropes here PM me any time.
I got a very nice PM back thanking me for welcoming him and sure enough he changed his Avatar immediately. I wish I could remember who it was but I completely forgot. I think the best way is just speak to the person privately but nicely..
No problem.... I see you've already remedied the problem, but I thought I would contribute to your collection of avatars, too...I thought you might like a butterfly on your flower, so that's what I added! I hope you like it! Here's another option, which is similar to the original one: Now, these are YOURS, personally, and shouldn't be copied.
But I'm afraid the original one, unless you created it yourself, is out there for anyone to use so we can't really say anything if someone else should come across it probably just like you did and decides to use it. It's fun to change them up occasionally, anyway! .
I think it's an attempt to get your goat (which you should be milking instead. ) I've seen avatars/icons repeated thru-out my span here, and I've never read a comment on it. Some folks swap theirs out regularly () and others simply find one they like and use that for their own, too.
I don't think offending someone is what's in line here; I think the goal here is to make react. Consider yourself poked; do you poke back? .
1 It has happened a few times. I would think once they see you are the same, they may change it without anyone asking. They would know it could be confusing.
Just wait.

2 grandma -you could ask (nothing ventured ) or I could make one (or several to choose from) for you with your name on the bottom, you would copy and paste it into the folder where you upload your avatars - let me know . As for several of the same avatars it does happen now and then .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
