Spanking Parents, at what age do the spankings stop for your children(long details)?

I guess it depends on the definition of normal...my dad spanked us, used the belt, made us cut our own switches, etc., until we were teens. My brothers got whooped all the way till they moved out, but my dad stopped all physical discipline with me once I...*ahem* became a woman, haha. All of us turned out fine: we're not violent people, or sociopaths, or crumbling psychiatric messes, haha.

So in my family, yep, normal. But others would say no. A few would actually be horrified, I'm sure, or call it barbaric.

Personally, I spank my kid, but timeouts are more effective for her anyway. Don't think I'll do the belt or switches, or anything like that, though. Every kid is different, so a one-size-fits-all discipline plan doesn't work from family to family, or even child to child, in my opinion.

Umm no. How would you feel if your kid spanked you back? This is abuse.

Besides, a lot of times it's not just the kids fault. I know you don't want to admit this to yourself, but parents are humans too. We make mistakes.

We can be wrong sometimes. Decisions must be of best interest of the parent AND the child.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
