No, as a Christian, I don't let money really affect me. I can be rich or poor, however I really believe in using that money, rather than having it sit around. If I'm ever broke, I'll make it back in the next day.
You see 80% of my money I'll invest it, I'll put it to work for me 24/7 (without holidays), generate more passive incoming and live off it nicely without a worry. I'll perfer to give it away if I don't use it. I got a huge bonus from work, but it didn't at all affect me, I simply put it to good use the following day.
I make it work for me, rather than me always working for my money or letting it control me. Yet, I'll still have my job. Spiritually: money can be the root of evil as it can lead to greed and more worldly wants.
I pay off my depts, mortgages, and anything I owe, and don't even own a credit card, etc. Since a kid, I've learnt not to waste it on small rubbish wanty items, however if I need/want something that will be well used, I'll save for it, I'll research about it (giving it time to see if I really need it or if it's just a have - I might find it's not worth it and move on) if it is suitable find the best for me at a good price, and buy it. I budget how much I can spend a week, then go slightly under that limit. I end up with items that last and are well used.
Consider some rich people, if they let greed take them, they want everything for themselves, they are never satisfied and take, take, take. It just separates the rich from the poor, more and more. The poor even can do the same, they don't know how to manage it and blow it all away as soon as they get it.
However, if you stay wise with money, you can still be generous and giving you can help others survive, support the homeless (as people that always get stuff for nothing will never learn either, they also become more greedy and dependent, we also need to teach them how to use it wisely), support charities, etc.
My husband got a pretty decent inheritance a few years ago and nothing really changed. He bought a new car outright and it was a nice Christmas that year but we never expected it to do anything other than that.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
