Two G. Since this was originally aimed at me on another question, I thought I'd take the time to answer here... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... According to Two G. , he knows me and my beliefs personally.
He has made many assumptions that he cannot back up. I believe that many Christians have part of the truth. I have even said that JW's have a lot of truth.
There are a lot of provable lies there, too. I find this to be true with most organized religions. The whole truth exists out there, but people are so into labeling themselves that we can't get beyond that to do honest unbiased research to find out what it is.
I do not label myself anything but Christian. Two G. Makes blanket assumptions about what I believe because he has been indoctrinated by the WT that all Christians are worshipping Satan and allow abortions, homosexuality, lewd behavior, etc. This is a lie and I'm not going to stand around and let him tell me what I believe.
Thing is, I know what he believes because they publish it in a book and all JW's believe the same thing, even when it is a blatant lie. Two G says I am convinced that anyone that is not a Christian will be destroyed? Nope.
I believe that there are people that have lived that never heard of Jesus. But, when they die, Jesus shows them who he is. I believe those that truly know Jesus will not die, regardless of the label they put on themselves while they were living.
As long as you accept and get to know the Jesus the bible teaches when you are shown him, you will be given everlasting life. And, there is no limit on that number. He also knows the true definition of cult and assumes I think everyone that does not follow my religion is a cult.
However, this is not true. I I look at the religion and make an informed decision. JW's over qualify for the cult label.
They know it, they just refuse to admit it. And, you wanna talk about parrots? If and when JW's can keep up with the new light, they regurgitate the same information, in the same words.
Mostly, cut and paste from the WT. I hear Christians that are around me being loving, nonjudgmental, and forever seeking the truth that God has shown us. That can not be said of most JW's.
Who is he to tell me I don't read my bible and that if I do, I am a preacher that preaches hell and brimstone? He is sadly mistaken, for I bet I could prove that I read my bibles for at least an hour everyday. I read it from cover to cover at least 5 times a year.
I research the history and what prominent scholars say about what I am reading. I do not rely only a biased source that has made huge, and might I add, proven, mistakes. I study and ask for guidance from Jesus and God.
And who is he to claim that you know anything about my baptism or anyone else's? Just because we do not claim allegiance to an org before we go under means that we take no guidance or have not prepared spiritually. That is like me saying all white people are racist, which we know is not even close to true.
Thing is, I rely on Jesus and God to show me the truth, while he equates the Watchtower to God. I know this because I read the WT myself. And, as for him calling the asker out in the cited question above, how Christian is that?
I know where he gets it from. He was taught this by the WT. It's fallacious reasoning that you attack the asker and it discredits what they have to say.
It doesn't get past many educated people. What Two G. Fails to realize is that it was easy to find out who he really is on the internet and that he wouldn't really want me to post what I know about him, now would he?
Seems he has a few secrets in his closet, too. But, I'll be the Christian that I am, and refuse to make this knowledge available. Your lies about my friends and fellow Christians are wrong.
Jesus would tell you that. Not all trinitarian churches have festivities, etc that they add. I agree that there are distasteful things going on in a lot of churches, including the JW's.
But, that doesn't mean that you can make these gross over generalizations and include even most Christians in this tirade. And, one of the big pluses of real Christianity- When you do not believe exactly what the doctrine says, you can ask questions and show what you have learned, or even leave, without fear of losing everything you have.
Two G, although I agree with the fact that the trinity doctrine is not biblical, I would suggest you refrain from asking questions like these in the future. This question can be viewed as being intolerant and "making fun" of other belief systems. Remember, Jesus encouraged us not to judge in Matthew 7:1-4.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
