SSD for a desktop computer - worried about SSD lifespan?

If you know your CPU, it would help us pick a SSD for you. Most SSDs nowadays are 2.5'', but the bays in your computer are 3.5''. The solution is to also buy (if it's not included) a 2.5 - 3.5'' bay adapter.

If you've got an 2nd - 3rd gen. Intel processor, you can get some fast SSDs like the Crucial m4, Intel SSD 330 & 520, OCZ Vertex 3, etc. If you've got something older, chances are you'll need to get a SATA II SSD, like the Vertex 2. Newer SSDs can run on SATA II, but they'll be slower.

Yes as long as your PC has either a Sata connection or a free PCI-E slot, ignore people telling you they ONLY use Sata, they have no idea what they're talking about, yes the 1.8", 2.5" or connect Sata but you can get 3.5" ones that connect Sata or a SSD that connects by HSDL, for that you need a PCI-E card to connect it to. You can also buy a PCI-E SSD that connect directly to a PCI-E slot, I run one made by OCZ, however these are VERY expensive as in £1200 for 480Gb expensive so unless your machine is top end it's not really worth it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
