While homework does add to the stress that students feel daily, I feel that it is necessary to an extent. I go to one of the top high schools in the US and get an almost obscene amount of work some nights, that involve me staying up for the most part of the night, but the results place the students and school at an advantage. At any rate, I know that if I didn't have homework I wouldn't feel as motivated to learn, nor would I be able to learn that much about a subject if I only had the hour of schooling for it during a regular school day.
