Easy.... You need to buy an adapter for your computer. Some come in sets with different "heads" for the different electrical set ups for various countries, as they differ, but those are generally for hair dryers or irons. You want the ones made specificaly for computers.
You can find them in places like RadioShack and even Walmart and Target, and at most airports. Check to make sure that they will handle computers; it should say on the package. They require over 150-Watts and plug adapters 273-1405 to fit a European outlet properly.
The last one I got was what held me up in Heathrow security. It must have showed up looking suspicious on the xray, as I had to take it out and let them look at it! I always take my computer when I go to the UK, but usually end up using the computers there for a small fee in the internet cafes, as they are generally cheaper than paying for wireless in hotels and other places.
Just depends on what is offered. It can be a pain having to lug it around and worry about it being stolen. I found it easier to just use the public computers there.
I used the adapters in all of Great Britain, and they worked fine, but I found they took extra long to recharge my laptop, plus got a "hot electrical" smell when I used them. But I still used them! Internet cafes and rooms of computers to use are much more common there than here in the US.
You might even want to get one of those little devices to locate wireless signals before you go! Here are some sites that lists various internet cafes in Europe: http://www.cafetouch.com/internetCafeDirectory/europe/ http://www.cybercafes.com/ Don’t forget to take your camera, extra batteries and memory sticks, too! And some CDs, in case you want to burn your photos to them to get them off your camera!

Look at the label on your adaptor. It will probably say something like 100-240V 50-60Hz. If it does (or close to those values) then it can be used in Europe - the adapter automatically handles the input volatage range.
All you need is a simple set of the plastic adapter plugs that take our 3-prong plug on one side and have the pins for the European country to are travelling to on the other. Electrickery on the road... Well, I have just come back from a ride across 12 European countries, starting in France, ending in Turkey. Pretty much all countries had the same European 2 prong straight plug (France was an exception where some powerpoints required an extra prong! ).
So when you leave your country, at the airport, you can easily buy one of these. The next issue you have is power. Most of Eruope is 220V, compared to Australia which is 240 and USA which is 110V.
Most travel related items such as camera chargers, laptops, PDAs etc. Can handle anything from 110-240V, just MAKE SURE you read the back of the device you are plugging in - laptops almost certainly will comply. And do't tell me the only thing you carry that requires power is the laptop. I did not think so, so what is the best advice ever is to carry a extension multi board with you!
You know the one, a power board from home so the European adapter attaches to the multi-board and all your devices can plug in. Too easy! Happy travels!
And don't forget a Gmail. Com account!.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
