1. IGoogle|iGoogle --> What it is: A customizable web page that is a collaboration between google and apple. --> How it works: There is a large database of addons for your page.

Twhirl's 'shorten URL feature' --> What it is: Twhirl is a Twitter management tool, but the feature I love lets you enter any URL and it gives you a shorter version.

Jott --> What it is: Lets you get things done from your cell phone --> How it works: I use the integration to Smartsheet. I call a number and it automatically adds or updates tasks basec on what I say.

Jing jingproject.com/ --> What it is: Its a handy tool I use to take screenshots. --> How it works: When you want to take a screenshot, you just click a button > crop your screen > jing lets you add arrows or boxes or text > one happy click another button that automatically uploads your screenshot to Flickr and puts the url on your clipboard --> Why it's important: On answers here it helps me answer questions.

EyeFi Explore--> What it is: 2GB SD Memory card with a WiFi transmitter --> How it works: You configure it once with your computer, after that it will wirelessly upload pictures to your computer and/or popular photo sharing services like Flickr, Picasa, etc... Addes WiFi geotagging to your photos. --> Why it's important: Automates may tasks I perviously had to do by hand.

Come home, turn on my camera, and all of my photos automagically go to the places I want them to without cables. Makes a non-geotagging camera a geotagging camera. --> More info: Unfortunately does not do movies.

1. IPhone: 1st generation & iPhone 3G|3G --> What it is: a communications device --> How it works: Well, there's the phone thing, and E-Mail|email, and entertainment, and navigation...I could go on. It's the customization via apps that make it still cool after over a year.

Twitter (via standalone app, like Tweetdeck) --> What it is: Theoretically, it's a short-burst Social Networking|social networking system. Not being a friend "counter", I find it invaluable to news junkies like me to keep me up-to-date.

Miche Handbags|handbag --> What it is: a nice-sized purse that means I never have to switch out all essentials to make the bag coordinate with the outfit.(It's a girly thing, guys) --> How it works: Buy one standard bag in black or brown and 3 magnetic shells of your choice. When a change is wanted or needed, rip off the current shell and apply another shell.

My Apple iPhone (orig 2G) --> What it is: A Mini Computing Platform that is also a Phone --> How it works: On Linux (?) and the Mac OS X|Apple OS --> Why it's important: Bc it allows me to be more productive (E-Mail|email, contact, web research), helps me organize keep track of my schedules (calendar, notes, real-time Map directions, etc) have fun (game apps, texting music, movies and surfing), be safe (the phone function). Have owned a MacIntosh since the 512K Mac came out in 1984.

I love how it integrates w/ my current Apple|Mac computer. It helps keep me organized and productive. Plus, how can you not love the Apple GUI and the interface?

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Computer Speakers|Computer Speaker System --> What it is: Great Computer & Small Office Speakers. Small-ish Speaker System you can use with your computer or attach to an iPod (or any device w/ an 1/8inch stereo/audio output jack). --> How it works: You plug the Speaker set into your audio source via a 1/8in stereo jack connector.

--> Why it's important: Because quality sound and music is important to me. I can't imagine a world without good music. Plus, all my movies, music, Podcast|Podcasts and the radio sound so much better when heard through quality speakers.

With the 200Watt Klipsch speakers, the sound fills the room-- as if the performers were across the room from you. Plus, with the iPhone app Megaphone, you can use your iPhone and these speakers as a mini public address system. Lose It! -->What it is: Its an Weight Loss|weight loss tracking app for the iphone. -->How it works: You start out by giving it your weight, height, gender, age ,how much weight you want to lose, and much you want to lose per week (can choose 1/2 to 2 Ibs per week).

The App then tells you want your caloric intake should be per week. You then add the foods you eat for each meal and it tells you if you are on track for your goals. -->Why it's important: Everyone carries their phone with them wherever you go.
