The check mark next to mail I've read, in my AOL e-mail inbox, no longer appears. How can get it back?

AOLMailMat - that does not answer the question. This is a different question. There used to be a check mark that would appear if that mail had been opened and NOT saved as new, and therefore was going to be moved to "old" mail and no longer appear in new mail.

Now I can't tell looking at my list of emails what will stay in new mail after I sign off.

This is the expected behavior for accounts migrated to our newer system. I'm in the process of making a Help page to document the changes - and I'll send it your way ASAP.

I keep things in my new mail that need to be dealt with, and this is making me really nervous that something will move to old mail and I will not realize it, since after reading something the first time, nothing else now indicates that it's been opened.

I don't understand. Why did AOL do this? What complaints or suggestions from users, what survey, led to this reduction in functionality?

And why no explanation or announcement of it?

In addition to the missing check mark, I've noticed the up and down arrow buttons next to the close button on the email being read will randomly change from a dark tone to a light tone and will become unresponsive. When this happens recently read emails will move from the New Mail to the Old Mail folder. This happens so frequently that I can't simply go from one email to the next using these buttons.

I am forced to close the email I've just read and go back to the mail box and open the next email. Very frustrating.

I have the same problem with the missing check mark in the "i" (Information) column. I have 2 email addresses and it only happens on one of them. The other email get the check mark as usual.

And don't tell me it's a "new feature". That's ridiculous.

This is exactly my experience, too! I really need the visual check mark back to show that that the mail will be moved to "Old Mail" unless I keep it as new.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
