The definitive voice on torture, the Red Cross: Waterboarding is torture. How can there be an argument?

Legally speaking, the definitive voice on torture should be the US law code: --quote-- “torture” means an act committed by a person acting under the color of law specifically intended to inflict severe physical or mental pain or suffering (other than pain or suffering incidental to lawful sanctions) upon another person within his custody or physical control --endquote-- law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/usc_sec_18_000... Within those parameters, there is room for discussion on whether or not waterboarding as practiced by the US in indeed torture.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
