My wife and I live in a lovely OAP bungalow on the Staffs/Shrops border. Our rent is 380 quid per MONTH, and 120 quid council rates, no rebates etc. which we can just afford to pay without any help from the taxpayer. What these idle immigrants get given for one month in a London mansion would keep my wife and I for many months.
Is this fair as we have both contributed to our wonderful land since the 1950's. For God's sake don't send the foreigners here, our rents may rise. In spite of this Britain is still the best, we wouldn't be anywhere else.
At the moment £175 p/w sounds very reasonable at the moment, but if Portugal, Ireland and then the big one, Spain go the same way as Greece, then £175 p/w will be a fortune, a bloody fortune. There's a storm on the horizon and its heading our way fast and whether we like it or not there's naff-all we can do about it, and we want to cap peoples benefit at £500 p/w, we must be mad. The wise thing to do the sensible thing would be to save every penny we can, and in some area's we are doing just that in fact we're doing a good job, such as people who have lived, worked and payed their dues all their lives in this country and now in their old age in their hour of need when they need our help, help that they have paid for with their tax's they are being denied this help on the grounds of cost, and we want to cap people's benefit at £500 p/w,,, we must be mad.
There must be many many more examples of our madness, where we give money to people who quite frankly haven't earned it and so don't deserve, while at the same time we take money away from people in the form of our help who do deserve it, who have earned it. Yep we must be mad.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
