The Olympic dvd's I recorded for my friend won't play on his machine - 'disc error.' Is it manufacturer incompatibility? What to do? Peter?

Some older and many 'more expensive' dvd players are really, really fussy regarding the media that they will play. It may be worth seeing if you PC can play them, and if so use (for example) dvdfab to create single layer dvd's from your dual layer ones (it will be slightly lower quality). I had a lot of issues with a Sony DVD player not playing disks that where recorded, yet the $30 Walmart dvd player will play absolutely anything. My solution was to use branded single sided (cheap) dvd's and use dvdfab to convert dual layer to single layer.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
