Purver translated the Christian Bible into English from the original texts in Biblical Hebrew and Greek. I cannot copy the source text for you; but, I provide you with the link to a scanned version of the University of Michigan's copy below. The note is from Martim de Albuquerque's Notes and Queries: Medium of Inter-Communication for Literary Men, Artists, Antiquaries, Genealogists, Etc.

; Second Series. Volume Third. Jan-Jun, 1857, pp.108-109; published by Bell & Daldy, London, in 1857.

Purver taught himself Hebrew, Greek and Latin. The article implies he learned Latin for the purpose of reading the works of other learned writers. The implication is clear that he worked from the Hebrew.

Clearly, the New Testament, which was not written in Hebrew, was translated from the Greek. It seems Purver's 30-year product was not a commercial success at the time. Whereas other translations were the products of teams of scholars, some of which were sanctioned by religious denominations, Purver's translation was the work of a single, self-taught man.

I hope this helps. 3 Sadly, we've lost the really original texts of the New Testament. Even the Greek texts may have been back-created from Coptic and Latin sources. Some of the original texts were probably in Aramaic, but no source survives.(People have since re-created Aramaic Bibles.) .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
