Theist- Why do I require faith to believe in a god?

The definition of "faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though no beheld" (Hebrews 11:1) Genuine faith requires basic or fundamental knowledge, acquaintance with evidence and heartfelt appreciation of what that evidence indicates. It is impossible to have real faith without accurate knowledge (evidence). The Bible says that it is "with the heart" that one exercises faith (Romans 10:10) Faith is a fruit of God's spirit.

God gladly gives his spirit to those who seek it (Galatians 5:22 and Luke 11:13). People without faith are not seeking that spirit. The Bible is a product of God's spirit, it being inspired by God.

If you don't study it you will not develop true faith. In other words, faith in God requires a person to first find out what the Bible says, then he will strengthen his conviction if he examines it carefully so as to be convinced (evidence) of its reliability. Romans 10:17.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
