There are three different types of Mesquite trees that can be found in the Phoenix and Tucson area: the Velvet Mesquite, the Screwbean Mesquite and the Honey Mesquite. The Velvet Mesquite is the most common and is truly native to southern Arizona. It can grow to be 30 feet and is typically multi-trunked.
