If you've known him for ten years and he's single start spending more time with him, do things like dates, he'll get the message - or he won't. If he doesn't get the message maybe he's not interested. Warm him up to the idea by asking him questions in the third person such as "What do you think of the idea of turning a friendship into more - do you think that ever works out?"

That way you can back out of it without spilling your guts if he's totally not down with the idea, thus avoiding the Awkward Moment!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
