Toilet handle must be held down continually throughout the flush... how do you resolve this problem?

If you push the handle, as soon as the handle comes back up the toilet stops flushing. In order to get the toilet to completely flush you must push the handle down, then hold it down about half way until the flush is complete. How can I fix this issue?

When this happens to me, I go the hardware store, buy a new ball, and all the rest of the guts inside. It all cost about $20.00. Install all the items you got at the hardware store.

Most hardware stores will show you what you need. You will also need a screw driver and a pair channel locks. It isn't hard.

After you finish it will be like new toilet.

Try changing the lenght of the chain that connects the handle to the flapper or the "stopper" in the bottom of the tank The chain connects the handle to the "flapper or "stopper" like device in the bottom of the tank. When you push the handle the chain gets shorter and pulls the stopper up, letting the water out of the tank and flushing the toilet. If the chain is too long, or short, it won't get the momentum to open and stay open so that the water can start to drain out.

Take the tank cover off and pull the chain up to see how long the chain has to be in order to pull the flapper/stopper open (but not hold it in the open position after the tank has drained) and re-attach the chain to the arm connected to the handle. A simple adjustment should relieve the problem.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
